Homemade Insect Repellent Spray
A garlic and dish soap spray discourages aphids, beetles, and other common garden pests, spot-applied without the residue of synthetic pesticides.
What you'll need
- 1 bulb garlic, crushed
- 1 quart water
- 1 tsp dish soap
Steps
- Steep the crushed garlic in the water overnight.
- Strain out the garlic and stir in the dish soap.
- Pour into a spray bottle and mist affected plants, focusing on leaf undersides.
Tip: Spray in the evening, not midday — the soap and garlic can cause leaf scorch in direct, hot sun.
