Shower Curtain Wash

A washing-machine method for restoring a mildewed or soap-scummed fabric or vinyl liner — no need to replace it every few months.

What you'll need

• 1/2 cup baking soda
• 1/2 cup white vinegar
• A couple of old towels (to balance the load)

Steps

1. Add the curtain and towels to the washer along with the baking soda in the detergent slot.
2. Run a warm wash cycle, adding the vinegar during the rinse cycle.
3. Hang to air dry — avoid the dryer, which can warp vinyl liners.
